Deer Season Open's this weekend Sept. 7th

Post by Hester0305 »

Our opening archery season open's this Saturday I have 5 different bucks and several does feeding on a regular basis at the back of my property, my wife is hunting Saturday afternoon and maybe she'll get a shot at either the 2 eight points or the ten point that is showing up every afternoon just before dark. We set her Dead Shot Field Pod up in the grandkids playhouse yesterday and she's really fired up since we've been watching them for a couple of weeks now. I'm hunting at my hunting club Saturday I'm hoping for an adult doe with no little ones to stock my freezer back up.

Good Luck to everyone this season and please stay safe.

I live in Kentucky, and will be in my blind Saturday morning. Hoping to harvest one with my bulldog 440! I’ve put close to 300 trouble free shots on this crossbow to make sure I wasn’t going to have any problems with the limbs. I’ve practiced out to 40 yards, and all I can say is its deadly accurate and very fast. Excalibur knocked it out of the park with this bow!!

We have a doe only gun season in Northern VA that starts Saturday. Since I've got another hunter hunting with us this year, I'm putting him in my stand. I'll be sitting closer to houses which makes the perfect situation to tote my Excalibur instead of a gun. I've got six doe tags left from last season that expire Sept 27th, so I've got my work cut out for me to keep from eating some extra chunky tag soup.

It'll be October 5th before archery season starts and bucks become legal game.

That is awesome to carry over on the tags, here they are soup at the end of the season.

Good Luck to all you early birds, be safe & enjoy!

I had to work Security at a football game yesterday afternoon and my wife calls me really excited and said she had been watching 5 different bucks and several does with little ones out the back window. She said the 10 pt had already shed his velvet but the rest of the bucks still had theirs. Tomorrow afternoon hopefully she will put her Matrix 350 into action. I'm going to try and do some videoing along with keeping my fingers crossed that she will get a shot at one of the bigger ones.

I wish North Carolina would open the season a month later, and then keep it open a month later.

It’s so dang hot out, I can’t even get motivated to hunt this time of year! No break in the 85-90 degree heat for a couple weeks either.

Just about the time the woods get nice, the season ends!

....I feel your pain......our season opens next Saturday...but only in certain zones....it is usually too hot; so I don't hunt....early bow is 2 weeks long....then it is a month of regular bow till 10/25; you can hunt anywhere....then permit bow starts from 10/26 thru 11/24...you have to buy a permit for a certain zone of your choosing....each additional zone requires an additional fee....only in TPR of NJ. :eusa-doh:
