Swat X mags!

Post by Carnivorous »

All sighted in and they are ready for tomorrow's afternoon hunt!

These heads are devastating and truly fly the same as my field points! ;)

.....we should have a "fly like a field tip" contest at Boofest next year.....first you shoot a field tip and then you shoot a BH.....the one that is closer wins.... :eh: ....I have no clue what they would win :eusa-shifty:

If the BH was glued shut to abide by the rules. I'd toss in a prize for that.

From your pic, it seems to have a largish COC component. There have been a lot of broadhead posts on the forum lately with lots of different opinions but i don't recall anyone commenting on a COC or chisel point preference. I don't know anyone who uses a COC head and have no knowledge of their effectiveness, but that Swat sure looks like it will get the job done.

They had a good showing of their product at the Show, as well Norm had some for us to fondle during bear season. In Canada they are pretty much the same price as everything else. In US they may be more expensive that the cheap options.
However, the quality, fit and finish and sharpness out of the package might be the best on the market . Their blades are downright deadly.

So Jamesy -

Do they come with the bands? Do you find they need them, or do they tend to stay closed until they reach the target? If they do better with bands, do you like their clear ones or the tougher black ones? At what minimum speed do you think qualifies as "magnum"? Their website lists a tested maximum, but not really a preferred minimum.
