Okay fellas. Yes, it does appear that hardly anyone really understood the problem and even when I spoke on the phone with Peter, he did not understand the problem. However, once he did understand it, he was completely at a loss and agreed it would probably have to go to the warranty center. And as an aside, it does appear I'm not the only one who knows you can no longer contact the warranty center direct, but that should not be a problem if someone at Excalibur gets on it to find a fix.

That being said, I'm not going into big discussions, especially after someone posted something that for sure was meant to be insulting. I will say that after Peter said the warranty center would call me, but didn't I simply got busy to try to correct the problem even if it meant dismantling the bow. I got it fixed and it is working properly now. The only snag I hit after fixing it is that at 20 yards the arrow dropped 2". So after shooting 3 arrows to make sure, I then adjusted the scope. I have shot the bow from 20 yards to 45 yards and all is well.

For those who tried to help, thank you.

Glad you got it working! This almost sounds like a good video f the jam and the fix would help others if indeed could happen again. Hopefully this issue is a one of.
Thanks for letting us know about the new sequence for warranty contacts.

Thanks Wayne. It certainly was a frustrating situation. Perhaps the most difficult was getting people to understand the real problem. But it is all in the past and I'm going hunting!

I hope that my post doesn’t come off as insulting, surely not my intention. If you took it that way I sincerely apologize.

Glad you fixed your problem. I know what a pain a malfunction can be in middle of hunting season be it bow or gun. Unless I missed the explanation of the problem in a previous reply. What exactly was the issue and how did you fix it.

Glad you got it fixed. I had troubles figuring out what had happened and in fact had a call with a similar issue from someone with a 420TD. After a few text messages, I ended up calling and after a few questions, we got the bow going again. So, you're right about the trying to convey the issue to everyone.

Sometimes the trigger housing only catches the anti dry fire and not the trigger. This happens. When moving the trigger housing to the string you need to make sure you hear the click. If not look and see if the string caught the trigger. Most likely it only caught the ADF. If this happens hold the back of the trigger housing with your thumbs and hold the string on each sides of the housing with your fingers and squeeze. You should then hear the click and your string will now be under the trigger.

Yes, the string was on the ADF but the big problem was that when trying to let the bow down, it would not go down except for half way. It could not be pushed down at that point. I was able to crank the bow up but not able to get the string onto the trigger. Simply could not pull the string back any further. Naturally this brought to mind perhaps I could pull the string back while someone held the sled from coming back. It did not work.

Believe it or not, while my friend and I were discussing it, I still had the rope cocker on and showing him that it was fairly easy at that point to pull it back a ways, I did it several time when suddenly it just felt like something happened so I let it up. To my amazement, it went down all the way. Problem was fixed.

Next step was to shoot the bow and hope nothing bad happened. The only thing bad that happened was that at 20 yards the arrow would hit around 2" low. I tried 3 arrows with same results. So I then adjusted the scope and shot at 20, 30, 40 and 45 yards. All was well.

During this time one strange thing happened. I lost the rubber pad of the rh stopper. If someone would please help me in posting we could get a picture.

The rubber pad seemed way too soft and is already also showing signs of falling apart. I do wonder if this is a future problem.

Are you talking about the R.E.D.S. ? The rubber string stops are soft and will get cut up if you go closer than 1/4" between the string and the stops/bumper. If set properly, they last thousands of shots.
