Yeah, I'd like to believe that, but I don't.

The Wisconsin Bowhunters Assn is apocalyptic about crossbows and I don't see them going away for long or quietly.

They have a proponent, Kaz, on the Natural Resources Board and SCI is also quietly pushing against crossbows behind the scenes.

The only thing, aside from general popular opinion, this DNR study and common sense stopping anymore anti-crossbow action right now, is the lefty, liberal Governor who is busy trying to appoint as many treehuggers to the NRB and DNR as possible.

That ultimately is the biggest overall threat to all of us hunters/outdoors people.

Idk thunder. I have tree hugging friends who are hunters. Personally I prefer to have biologists/scientists making game management decisions vs politicians.

To a degree, I think we're talking semantics here. MY definition of a "treehugger" is NOT a hunting environmentalist oriented towards managing both the environment and wildlife, it's primarily an anti-hunting, anti-firearms/weapons individual.

I agree that we don't want politicians making the decisions or we get:
-no child hunting age limit
-no back tags
-no in-person registration
-etc., etc. (Oh yeah, the politicians have already brought us all the above)

By the same token, trusting "science" is more difficult than it used to be, one person's science isn't anothers. Science told me drinking coffee was good, then it was bad, then it was good, now it's...!?!?!? Medical Science told us frontal temporal lobotomies were good, that one sorta turned out bad.

Good thing I don't like coffee

on that we agree completely! as my dad used to say "figures lie and liars figure" and politicians and marketers are professional liars! i am a member of a sportsman's club in NE WI and we are working closely with the DNR in two areas- invasive species and fish stocking. I really enjoy working with the wardens (who are biologists, limnologists, etc). They are smart, helpful and concerned about the environment AND they are all either hunters or fishers (fishers? maybe i am turning into a politically correct liberal  ). People like that are the kind who should make wildlife/hunting decisions. I think and hope those are the kind tony evers wants to return to DNR leadership, the kind who were tossed out by the preceding governor.

Politicians lie but they know the truth most of the time! Scientists lie because they don’t know the truth most of the time! I don’t trust either! Get real hunters appointed to make the difficult decisions based on common sense!
