340 axe usage

Post by Lewism »

Question; what I read the axe is all around bow. Can you use it for moose and bear?

Well in one of the early Excalibur videos they take a big black bear with a Vortex which is rated at 330 FPS, and one of the largest Moose taken with a crossbow was done with a Vixen, I think you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Yes you could hunt any north american big game animal with a 340 and have all the power you need to get the job done.

Go to this page. Just plug in your arrow weight and speed. You will see your 340 has plenty of kinetic energy to kill all north American game, as others have posted above. Use the speed your arrow will be at your farthest comfortable hunting yardage. Save the link you wil find some great info you can always go back to this site.

Where did you buy the bow? I have a Bulldog 440 but I would like a back up bow and I like the way the Axe looks and on Amazon it’s on sale for $699 and it comes with the SDS kit and airbrakes. It is also the Kryptec version which is nice. I would like to know where is the best to buy. Thanks in advance!

Lol. There’s no way I would be able to travel to Canada for a crossbow, especially one that I can get online for the same price and get airbrakes and the SDS kit along with it. Did you get a cranking device or are toy able to manually clock the bow? What’s the #age of the bow? 280?

Thanks

It's not the same price, it's 30% less for you. Check Al Flaherty's out if Toronto. Canadian dollar and ships free to USA.

Why would it be 30% less and does it come with the SDS kit and Airbrakes? Just wondering.

This is correct. On Al's site you can look at price in Canadian and USA dollars.

Yeah, the prices at Al's are pretty good for us USA guys. Or at least they used to be good prices delivered. When you go to checkout, that sweetly priced Axe 340 now has $74 worth of taxes added to it. So to me in Michigan (and NO, I am not buying one, this is just an example guys - wife says no more bows), it would be $641 delivered. The same bow from a big box store (take a "Cab" to get there) would be $635 delivered and that includes Michigan sales tax of 6%. So just shop around before buying.

I ordered a Matrix 350LE from Al's and was not charged any tax. Why is it being added now?
