Do you think the excalibur 308 short has enough power to use the swat x mag on hogs?

I have watched several videos and think they would work. I know Normous has been using these, and has some vast knowledge of them, he would be an excellent resource for questions. I have been seriously considering the X Mag with the weighted collars for myself to use with the Axe. :eusa-popcorn:

The SWAT X MAG is a fantastic large cut reliable mechanical . However I DO very much suggest using it out of crossbows faster than 360 fps and on arrows over 400 gr to maximize its potential.

The 308 is best paired with the SWAT A4 Mini and a heavy arrow the way I see it.

That looks pretty devastating. My axe at 318 with 407 total grains with 125 grain heads would be best suited for which model Norm? I'm thinking A4 as well.

Above is the SWAT A4 that my wife burried into a 5" hard maple tree last season at 45 y.. Her 420 gr arrow was traveling at 425 fps. The big buck escaped unharmed.

We cut the tree down and saved the trophy one year to dry.

Last week I chiseled that section open to reveal the A4's intact , not broken and unbent blades.

This very much impressed me. The SWAT A4 is almost identical to the X MAG with the X MAG having .002 thicker blades at .036. No other aspect except .002 and color is noted between the two.

After some discussion, and research I decided to try the Swat A4 Mini. I ordered two packs of the heads, two packs of 25 grain weights, and two packs of the Milstrap bands. I cannot wait to check these out, never seen them anywhere except the internet.

Thanks Norm for the information!

Wow that is impressive that a mechanical head could be retrieved from being embedded in a tree and come out in that good of condition !
Looks like a top notch quality head.

Norm, would you recommend the Vector with the blades set swept back for slower bows? Do they test them in slower bows at Skorpyd?
