SWAT Broadheads

Post by xcaliber »

I got my order today, waiting on the doorstep when I got home from hunting in the wind & rain. Anyway, the weight with added 25 grain weights was 124 & 125 with all but one being 125 grains. The weights all came in at 22 grains, and fit every broadhead I tried them from Muzzy to Nap, and Cabelas Lazer Strikes. The weights measure .125" on thickness, and .300" outside diameter. These packs came with the extra Milstraps, not the clear ones, so I have several. They are very sharp, and well made, every one of them spins very nicely. Each pack has 3 heads with one being open without the strap on it. It is a bit fun putting those on, and they are much tougher than you would think, you can rough them up quite a bit!
They sent me a nice decal, and a practice head with my order of 6 heads, 6 weights, and two packs of Milstraps. I have a few pics. Sorry the scale is a little hard to read, but assembled they were dead on 125 grains. The heads without the weights were 103 grains. I think you can use the 25 grain weights on any broadhead, they fit all of the brands I have very well. One pic is on a Killzone the other NAP Shockwave. I am very impressed with these so far, we'll see if they drain my game hopefully soon.

Do the blades hit the shaft or insert when open?

Dan,
I tape the bottom blades then gently hold in place in my vise.
Next, I use a mini expander and hook to gently place the duty mil strap into place.

Thanks Norm, good tips. I made a small hook with a paper clip and used a twist tie from a bread bag to hold the bottom blades. Hunting with them right now. :eusa-dance:

I was hoping you got a deer this morning. Can't wait to see the results.
Is the rut on by you? I was out Saturday and didn't see anything.

I saw one doe yesterday and one today. I think we’re real close to the full rut, but hard to say for sure. I have not been out much.

Looks like a guy could really hurt himself putting O-rings on those broadheads!
