Re: Deer cart upgrade
Dan, go over every factory fastener, including axles and the nylon fabric screws and pump tires to 30 lb. I went 35 lb.

Re: Deer cart upgrade
Thanks, did that & some were not tight! Put 31# in the tires, that cart is a hog, I like it!

Re: Deer cart upgrade
The tires will stay inflated for you. I hauled a doe over 300 yards with mine up a steep side of a ridge with no straps used (I did have 2 in my pocket if needed) and went over logs big enough to make the cart tires flip end over end and the deer never shifted in the cart and made it all the way to my vehicle without a single spill. I am still impressed as my old cart would have never made it without many stops to move stuff out of the way and would have probably tipped over a few times even with straps.

I like reading this fellas, my old cart was just barely better than dragging the deer!robertyb wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 5:05 pmThe tires will stay inflated for you. Re: Deer cart upgrade
Just got the crawler cart I ordered from Scheels on FRIDAY, today!!
Fast shipping although the box did look like it was dropped out of an airplane from 20,000 feet, smashed, torn open about a foot with several other holes in it. (UPS )
Fortunately no damage or missing parts.
ONE THING I would tell anyone buying this cart, the FIRST thing you should do, BEFORE you air up the tires or attach the tire assemblies, is take 2 ratchets and 2 deep well sockets, 12mm & 14mm, and tighten all 5 wheel nuts and bolts on all 4 of the 2 piece metal wheels.
If you air up first, they push apart and tightening them is harder and you might pinch the inner tube if it squeezes into the two piece internal "gap".
These nuts are NOT nylok/lock nuts and most were loose.
On one wheel, all were very loose to the point where one bolt/nut had fallen off into the box. On 2 other wheels they were "sort of loose" and on one wheel, they were sort of tight.
Other than that assembly went pretty well and it looks like a sturdy cart, hope to try it out soon.

Re: Deer cart upgrade
Received mine today. And as Thunderxb said. It looked like it had been airdropped! Box all torn to pieces. But also mine was unscathed and all parts and pieces were there. Hopefully I can put it to some use soon.

Not good, thankfully nothing was missing.

Re: Deer cart upgrade
Yep, my box was handled by apes, then tossed out of a truck going 60 mph, then delivered. I have a bit of rust on one rim, but hey, I bought it to abuse it!

Re: Deer cart upgrade
One of the guys on CT forum received his with about half of the box missing along with most of the parts. They ended up sending him another one.

Re: Deer cart upgrade
Mine arrived beat up but all parts where there I think. Were lock pins supposed to be supplied to lock the rear frame when unfolding? Instructions show the pin but it's not on parts list.
Also the handle came bent. It does not look to be from shipping but most likely from the manufacturer.

Re: Deer cart upgrade
Mine had 4 of the lock pins but I do not bother using them when hauling a deer, totally not needed.xpert1111 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 5:35 pmMine arrived beat up but all parts where there I think. Re: Deer cart upgrade
We used the Crawler cart again Friday on a medium sized Ont deer and on flat ground like an ATV trail. Pushing the Crawler like a lawn mower was real easy.
This cart has certainly improved deer extraction with less effort used, plus reducing that next day sore lower back.
