Which heated vest??

Post by Owl Creek »

So i finally boke down and was going to buy a Milwaukee vest.
That way i did not have to wear so many layers. Or thick gear.

I went to the store and the 2xl was to tight. Thats as big as they go.

So now i am on the look out for another brand.

Any of you folks wear one or know of good recommendations??

Thanks

Nope, but I'll say this. After the first time I wore a good pair of Bibs, I won't hunt in cold without them.

I have the M12 hoodie and it's awesome. Like wearing a heating blanket while hunting! :)

If you find one, please let me know!! I hate those 85 plus degree days sitting in the stand with sweat running in my eyes!! Too many bugs and "skeeters" too!!

Havn't looked at the heated vests but I'm guessing they are not cheap. I'd think for similar money you could get into some Sitka clothing. All I have at the moment is the duck oven coat but I've heard their fanatic series is even warmer and the DO is stupid warm and light weight. If ya watch end of season sales you can pick it up anywhere from 35 to 50% off. I'll be slowly switching over as I can afford it.

VOLT. That is the name of the company. I purchased the camo vest and the heated sock liners. I upgraded to the larger capacity batteries for both. I my opinion they were well worth the money. I bought a couple of pairs of Under Armor tactical socks. They’re lightweight and calf high. I put them on first and then the heated socks. They don’t give them away though that’s for sure. I do wish I had gotten them years ago. I bought directly from the manufacturer. Something to do with the warranty.

I knew some folks up in Holden. and have a buddy in Concordea .
i was just up at Reform last weekend.

you can get a vest for 200 to 300.
Sitka aint cheep but i hear its good stuff. i was trying to get away from the bluk. that DO looks nice.
the guys on archerytalk use to talk about the incinerator coat all the time.
Cabelas carrys that dont they ??

i may take a look at the DO tho. looks like its size big for layering if needed but the reviews said the same as you, very warm but not bulky.
and dont need to layer unless its extremely cold.

I've worn the Duck oven goose hunting when it has been around 0 with a pretty stiff wind, all I had on was a heavy base layer a sweatshirt and that coat. Stayed plenty warm wearing that with a good neck gaiter and wool beanie, I tried xxl which is what I normally wear and it was abit tight so went with xxxl which is pretty loose. If ya git up this way much stop by Rogers up in Liberty they run some good sales and will send ya email alerts. Have acouple of friends that have the incentereator stuff which is what I was thinking of earlier not fanatic and they can't wear it to walk into the stand they just get too hot but it's the cats meow sittin out in a tree in real cold temps. Also Camofire on the net is a good place to pick up sales that's where I got my coat and only ended up paying 90 bucks for it.
