Motivation??

Post by ko4nrbs »

What drives you to get up so early and go out in the cold to hunt deer? For me it's the chance I may see that big buck I got a picture of on a trail camera. Oh and if I sleep in I always feel guilty for not getting up for the hunt. It's a curse I guess.

Back when I was hunting, it was the piece and quiet of nature (yes I know that there are a lot of sounds in the woods, but it is NOT vehicals or machinery) and the fact you might be sitting in the same location at the same time, but but what you see will be different.

A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Before daylight saving I can hop out of bed and be in the field like nothing. After daylight savings forget it, I drag my butt. Which is no good because the sun is heading down at 5 now,. So it's not easy to hunt the evening. Although I do get to be home to see the kids before bed, which they like to hear the days story... About squirrels usually

Oddly enough I'm up at 4 and at weight training by 5:45 three times a week and that's no problem regardless of the light.

I love to watch the world come alive from a tree stand in the mornings. A deer sighting just makes it a better day.

Participateing in nature in the pursuit of the best quality meat is a triffic challenge that gives a person a sense of identity and a sense of pride when done correctly , feeding your family buy natural means.
I also believe it's in our dna physically after millions of years of evolution.
The comeradity of a hunting camp is hard to beat.
Also you never know what a day in the woods will end up being like anything can and does happen.
Hunt eat sleep repeat.
