Last day buck

Last day of gun season here .l just couldn't shoot some of the smaller bucks in my woods knowing that they will be bigger next year.
The two target bucks this year are gone one got hit with a F150 the other has dissapeared so today l was on public land the last day of gun buck and decided to take this nice little 8. Little vixen made quick work of him with a little nap shockwave 40 yard recovery he was on the hoof at a decent pace and the shot was good. My brother got a nice 9 pointer with the ten guage and buckshot last week .
In all it was a great crossbow year for me.
I still have one more doe tag for winter bow ....its all good!

Congratulations to you and your brother. Stinks one of your targets was hit by vehicle. So unfortunate when that’s how they go out.

Congrats Joe, I was covered with small bucks today and passed on them, saw 15 doe but no good shots with the muzzle loader, so I got nada! Tomorrow we might switch gears a bit and take one of them smaller bucks. These bucks were a tad smaller than that one, maybe two, or three tads!

Nice buck. I shot one very similar to that earlier this year. I rarely see bucks larger than that where I hunt.

Congrats on the buck. Congrats to you for passing on the smaller deer. Where I hunt if you don't take the first antlered animal you may be eating tag soup.

Congrats on the buck.

I have 2 that size that I have been passing up since November knowing the big guy is still around but I haven't seen him the last 3 sits so I may just have to take a doe although I don't really need it for the freezer.
