Bolt advice

Post by Noreaster »

I'm thinking about upping my broadhead weight to160 grains and am looking for some onput. I currently am shooting Golt Tip Swift pro arrows out of my micro 335 with 125 grain broadheads bohning 2" fletching and luminoks. Weight is about 408 grains. Accuracy is gooď. Id like to increase my downrage energy and quiet the bow some. While looking at various sites it seems my arrow may be undet spined. Any input would be welcome.

Since your shooting a short arrow your spine deflection will be fine. Up your FOC weight and shoot on!

400 to even 430 grains is perfect .lt seems like 200 maybe 220 grains up front (point, insert ) any combination works great.

I was concerned thatI might have too much weight up front for the spine with a 150 grain tip. My current arrows are Gold tip Swift Pros. I have 110 grain brass inserts, that woud make it 260 on the tip.

When l was new to crossbows l was shooting a 100 grain insert gold tip with a 150 boltcutter that's 250 up front ....they actually shot really good and penetration was tops. It's a little extra but it sure didn't hurt anything . Now l use a zombie with a 110 insert and a 125 head most of the time.
I believe a zombie would have a little more spine for the extra weight and probably be a tad more accurate.

Thanks for the advice. Think I might go the Zombie route and keep shooting my 125 slick tricks for now. Will most likely jump to 150s when I change heads in the future.
