Equinox first Excalibur?

Post by bobby5 »

I just bought a used equinox and was wondering how they are compared to the new crossbows? I always wanted a Excalibur and finally bought one to test them out so far I love it. Just was curious how reliable they are compared to the newer short limbed crossbows?
Thanks

The old long limb models are the catapult to what is out there now. Those models helped form the company, and it's reputation. If you don't mind the wider bow, it will most likely outlast you! Also, shooting 20" long arrows is a plus for accuracy, weight, and availability. You're in great shape with that one!

I have an Exomax which is the same crossbow without a thumb hole stock. Have killed over a dozen deer with it so far. Very accurate and dependable. I did add the Guardian Anti-Dryfire to it and bought a C2 crank for cocking it while target practicing. I have still hunted with it and while it is wider than the Matrix and Micro models it carried well.

Have fun with it and practice all you can!!

I hunted with an Equinox for 10 years it is a rock solid bow that was the flagship bow of the long limb line.
I harvested deer every year with it and it preformed beautifully you have a great bow.

I have two Equinox's that I hunt with. I also have a Vortex and a Phoenix (same width) that I just use for practice.

I like the wide ones and am not going to change.

When I first wanted to get an Excalibur, I handled my nephew's Matrix 380 and a friend's Equinox. I liked the feel of the Equinox better, so that is what I got. I have been happy with decision.

I did add an anti dry fire to all my crossbows.

The Equinox is a great crossbow, my 1st Excalibur was a Vortex I liked it a lot and killed several deer with it I would have kept it but the Matrix line came out and I shot a Matrix 380 and I was hooked. I'm sure you'll love it and get many years of service of it. Congrats on your 1st Excalibur.
