In Training

Post by Normous »

I notice Excalibur has a booth at the 2020 SHOT SHOW IN VEGAS this week.

Attending the SHOT SHOW has been on my bucket list ever since bucket lists were created and probably longer, my goal was to one day attend.

Patti and I fly down in the morning to attend and make my wish come true.

With 13 miles of aisles and 2,300 registered booths we decided on new footwear each and spent the last few weeks on the Stairmaster climber between 25 and 40 minutes a day to prepare ourselves for all the walking.

I doubt we can see it all during our 4 day visit. With some foresight I spent time preparing a long list of favourite vendor booths to visit and arrive with a plan in hand to see them efficiently , if that is possible due to its enormous size.

I certaily expect many unique stumbled upon interesting finds to drool over , firearms especially.

One more short sleep to go.

Sounds like a great time.
My wife has no problems with my hobbies but l dought she would take on that task ...l would hear whining in maby 3 hours or so..3 hours of shooting, fishing etc. Is the attention span and breaking point of the gal.she would be better off at the motel pool.
I would have to bring my brother.
If she did attend l could guarantee future suffering at a event of her pick that wouldn't be fun.
Enjoy your trip and company.! Be safe send pictures too.

A pessimistic cynic would say that your wife keeps you on one heck of a short leash.

A generous optimist would say that you are a lucky man to have a spouse who shares your interests to that degree.

One Norman to another, I'd say that you have a keeper. You are a lucky guy! Hope you and your Mrs. enjoy the show.

Hi5, I taught my wife to hunt so I don't have to hunt for my wife. 8)

To be honest, on one of our first dates, just after she turned 19, she asked to tag along rabbit hunting with me. When the 12 g barked and the rabbit rolled and she carefully watched and asked me if she could clean the next one after watching me remove the fuzzy pajamas and gutting bunny, I didn't shoot another that day, but she has never missed an opportunity to hunt with me since. She is 52 today.

She is my friend and a keeper. BLESSED!!

Now that’s something worth writing and reading about!! Happy Birthday to her. You’ve found a once in a lifetime there for sure!! And I’ve always heard hunt with your kids so ya don’t have to hunt for them. Definitely nice to hear that the same goes for the misses!! Hope the show lives up to and exceeds your bucket list expectations!!

I'm jealous.................coming from New Brunswick I've only experienced the local sportsman shows. I did go to Augusta, Maine to a couple of shows over 30 years ago. Those were the biggest sportsman show I've attended and they were great.
I must say for this poor deprived old fart I got all excited about going to Cabelas in Dundee, Michigan and Owatonna, Minnesota.

2 to 3 miles at the local gun show in Phx. and I got to take a break.

13 miles would certainly be a challenge.

Have a great time!
