I bought one a couple years ago for a neighbor. They say 15’ but they seem more like 10’. They are sturdy though.

I caught them on clearance around the first of the year and picked up their last one from my local WalMart for $78. It was too good of a deal to pass up. Its leaning against a tree in my back yard to use for bow practice. I'll wait until later summer to put it on the hunting property. I also picked up two of the 20' climbing sticks for $30 each.

The directions weren't great, but I've seen a lot worse. The finish is pretty good. Like all the others, I'm sure the bolts will rust over time. Its not as wide as the 15 year old stand it replaces, but the narrower ladder and shooting rail that flips up sheds more than 35 pounds of weight. It was a LOT easier to hang. The old 12 foot stand it replaces did not have pins in the ladder sections. It felt like risking your life each time it was moved. This one is plenty stable one you get it strapped down.

That's not a bad deal for the price.

great deal thanks for the heads up! the claws in the back might be an issue in my state. damage to trees is a ticket offense. the early (20 plus years ago) ladder stands use to have points on the back bars like that. the stands ive left in all year i leave a little room for the tree to grow in the off season. if you ratchet too tight the tree as it grows will lift the stand in the off season. i also use the chain or the cable lock wrapped around snug next to the ratchet strap so if it broke there is kind of a back up. with these mass produced stands the only other issue is water getting in the tubes and freezing causing bulge cracks and heavy rusting. some of the weld points have rotted through on some of my ladder rungs too. always check your stands out for safety sake.

Indiana and a few other states have a maximum penetration of 1/2” which I think these teeth are 3/8” long like many other ones. The height is measured to the shooting rail as Dave said, that puts the foot platform at about 12’ which is low for me, but will work fine. I prefer climbers but cannot lug them anymore! :eusa-naughty:

I've got a couple of these stands. They work great. I just simply drop them and bring them to the shop after the season ends. I usually hit them with a spraying of camo paint to cover and rust after I have hit them with a wire brush.
My 16 year old granddaughter took this doe from one last year.

She now has taken 3 doe and a spike.
Man they grow up fast.... :(
