favorite turkey decoy
Whats everybody using as their favorite turkey decoy? I've used Buck Wing decoys for about 20 years now and have had great success with them. I like the the look of those expensive ones also but I've killed turkeys using those cheap, phony looking foam ones too.I don't think turkeys mind one way or the other!

I used a mounted decoy I did myself and now I use DSD's . they are the closest as you can get to a real one . they are costly but well worth it IMO.

I use a Pretty Boy and girl most of the time but every now and then I just stick out a folding foam hen by herself or maybe with a folding foam Jake. The big older mature gobblers prefer Pretty Boy once they start loosing a few hens. I actually had one leave his hens and run almost 50 yards to Pretty Boy to attack him one morning. I gave him a ride home. His 6 hens all ran off when he hit the ground.
I had 4 Jakes come visit my foam hen this morning. It was tempting as I was using my new Ravin but I let them walk.

I use this one. I think it's a basspro special but has fooled a few Toms and Jake's over the years!

I have ZERO experience hunting turkey. I was going to try and get a tag this year for the first ever season in NB. Looks like Covid-19 has destroyed any chance of a season/draw. On speculation I purchased these Primos Gobstopper Jake and hen combo.Just a picture to show you what they look like. The stakes are nice and you can lower the hen in a breeding posture. I’m sure there are better looking decoys but the price was right.

They should work just fine. I was out this morning and had two jakes come by and all I had out were a couple of fold up Featherflex decoys that are probably 30 years old.Stepnoutnb wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 10:34 pmI have ZERO experience hunting turkey. I've used those too.[inflatable ones] Really fake looking but thats kind of my point. I sometimes think it really doesn't matter to a turkey but we spend alot of money to buy realistic looking turkey decoys. One day just for fun, I might spray paint a brown paper bag to look like one to see if I can get one to come in.

I always have the greatest plans for my dek's but usually they make it about half way in and I get tired of carrying them and stash them in a bush with my gunsock.
I almost always forget to pick up my gunsock.
