Crazy weather

Post by Hatchet »

We are back in the turkey blind this morning and boy is it chilly. We had a pretty good frost last night. Hoping it didn't hurt the freshly planted vegetable garden or elderberry bushes I put in yesterday. This has been a weird spring as far as weather. Last week was so hot it was almost unbearable. Today it's back to the long underwear. People here say "if you don't like the weather in Maine wait five minutes". Well I have waited five minutes and I like it even less.

Hoping the suns shines on you wherever you may be.

68 degrees and partly cloudy here in East Texas this morning! It's been cool for us too! But one thing is for sure in Texas, it's gonna get HOT!!! We are also 7-8 inches of rainfall above average for the year.
Come July, August and September, you want get enough rain to fill a water glass! :wtf:
Everything is GREEN!! Makes me wonder what the upcoming deer season is gonna be like. Probably have enough acorns to feed an army of deer!!
Browse right now is plentiful. Should be a bumper year for fawns. Here's hoping Mother Nature is smiling on all the critters everywhere!!

After several five minute waits it has warmed up. We went to our neighborhood organic farm and they gave us replacement plants for free. The farmer and his wife have always been very kind to us. They said they had some frost damage but nothing severe. I still haven't checked my new elderberry bushes but they die back to the ground every year anyway. Farming can be pretty unpredictable and I am glad I don't have to depend on it to feed my family or pay my rent.

Sorry to hear about your freezer. Good thing you noticed it that would have been really bad. Get that grill going and make the best of it.

I think 68 will be our high today. Good day for hunting here. I watch your temps in Texas in the summer, don't know how you guys do it. But if that's what it takes to grow the acorns you must just get used to it.

Gonna grab some grub and get back after those turkeys.
Take care

Yesterday morning in the Northern Ontario bear woods was a chilly 37 F.
Lasted only 3.2 hrs on stand. No bugs which was a welcome relief..

Norm that's about how long we sat this on this morning's turkey hunt. It is nice not to be chewed by the black flies. We are wishing you guys the best of luck up there.

Sorry about that I updated my profile after someone asked me that same question and it didn't submit. I am from the wonderful State of Maine. I'll share a secret with you guys I am kind of late to embrace this technology. If I were to send you a message or email you may not get it. Or you may get it in triplicate. I am learning though.
