TO PIMP THE SAME OR NOT... THAT IS THE QUESTION?

Post by amythntr »

....many of you have multiple Excalibur’s in your fleet... what is your reasoning for either pimping each one identically or completely different?
Specifically,
.... scopes,
....strings,
....sound reduction,
.....quiver,
......arra’s (if 2 of the same CB),
......nock and Broadheads,
......also, do you use a cocking aid or still use the “Armstrong” Method?
In a tough situation and wonder where God is; ...the Teacher is always quiet during the test.

If possible, I try to keep all my accessories the same. When it comes to scopes I use what I have or what came with the crossbow. Currently 2 Hawkes, 2 Dead Zones, and 1 Twilight. If it ain't broke, no sense in spending extra money needless.
As far as cocking aids, I do have the EXT crank, but since I find it a "pain", I don't use it. I like to use the rope for all my Excaliburs. When the time comes that I can't, I'll use my lesser poundage Excaliburs.

No added pimp, my bows are pre-pimped from my factory. Same scopes, no quiver, same arrows, different broadheads.

Not much difference with how mine are setup.
I use the stock excal scopes, excal strings and a alpine soft-loc hip quiver.
XX75/XX78 aluminum arrows and I have the easton rps carbon inserts for nocks.
Cocking aid is a excal rope cocker.

Everything is factory except the arrows. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!
Arrows are custom built.
I have a cocking aid, (C2 Crank), but I'm not fond of it. I'm still stout enough in my old age to "rope cock mine" with no problems!! :D   :wtf:

I know Anthony will have some kinda snide remark to make about that last statement!!!!

I am always trying something new but I do like the idea of having 2-3 crossbow shooting the same bolts.

I have a matrix 380, micro 315, and an Axiom. I did upgrade the strings, going to upgrade the bolts, wanted a DLX scope and put it on the Matrix, moving the Tact Zone from it to the 315, saving the dead zone for a spare as the Multizone on the Axiom is doing great so far. Any input please feel free to share.

All are pretty simple dr stirrup bumpers boo/vixer or Keith's strings my bows are all 355 and under so a rope cocker is sufficient crossbones and bolts are as simple and dependable as it gets. All have weaver 6 hole tactical scope mounts. Most of my bows have a trigger tec or a boo trigger, l cant stand a crappy trigger.
The zombies and executioner all are 110 insert but different lengths .
I have 6 different bows so the expandables make tuning a snap all basically fly as a field point I'm not into indexing if a bolt flies off its tossed...never tossed a zombie yet. I really like the stock regular excalibur quiver it works perfectly.
Simple is best in hunting in my opinion .
My sub 40 yard max doesn't need anything more powerful or advanced.(definitely not wheels)
When l shot the stickbow roger rothaar was my hero
He was a big fan of simple equipment l guess it stuck .
I have only killed about 2 trophy bucks like him out of his many but at least l learned about the equipment...lol
Vixen 2, metal ibex,Phoenix, sapphire, matrix 330 ,matrix 355 ,vortex and baby grand piano y25 relayer.
Trigger tecs, leupold crossbones and nikon bolts.
Zombie slayers and mostly swat broadheads.

I have a 380,350LE,micro 355 and a vixen. All of mine have Hawke mounts other than that it’s tact zone scopes and stock strings save the 350LE.
I added a trigger tech trigger and a Hawke scope with a custom string. I figured since it was a limited run bow I would dress her up 8)
