Aftermarket Micro Strings?

Aftermarket Micro Strings?
I do not have good luck with the factory strings. The serving comes apart right where the trigger grabs it after maybe 15-20 shots and gets worse and worse even with keeping everything lubed and waxed.
Are there better aftermarket options?
Thanks!

Micro's are tough on servings! Polishing will help. Go to Boo's website (Boo's Custom Strings), and it'll show you "how to" get the job done.
However, it is my understanding, and someone may set me straight or correct me on this, but I believe a lot of the wear comes from the fact that the limbs are "narrower" than that of say, the Matrix models and it puts more stress on the serving at the latches.
But if you're only getting 15-20 shots, then you do need to polish those latches!!

Get the latches polished then do yourself a favor and get a Boo custom Flemish string! He makes the best string for Excalibur bows! Www.boocustomstrings.com

Get the latches fixed up, and DO NOT LUBE the center serving! Get a good Flemish String, and you'll be golden!

Re: Aftermarket Micro Strings?
had the same problem with my micro 315. I polished the latches before I put on a new string. I put a Vixenmaster string( not knocking anyone else's strings) just happen to have one. no problems now.

This maybe a separation issue. -sro-, can you post a picture of the damage?

Re: Aftermarket Micro Strings?
I have always lightly waxed my center servings. I was told to do so years ago by a guy that really knows his strings and it has always worked well for me. I have several strings that are still usable with well over 1000 shots on them but with a Matrix bow not a Micro.

The center serving is Angel Majesty, and wax can promote separation. I don’t wax strings that are served with that material and have no issues. If it’s not broken don’t fix it.

It's hardly an Excalibur exclusive problem.

Re: Aftermarket Micro Strings?
That''s a good argument, but it's not like a new problem either. If it were not for the crappy fasteners, and latch issues there would be nothing to belly ache about!

Re: Aftermarket Micro Strings?
I would also polish the top of the rail as well as the edges and corners that the string rides on with 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper. The string will glide down the barrel with no more fraying from the machining, and doesn't usually effect the annodized color if you don't have deep cutter marks to polish out.
Re: Aftermarket Micro Strings?
I won't buy any crossbow but Excalibur, but where is the quality control at Excalibur, if you have to be polishing latches and sanding the rail, not to mention the problem they've had in the past with the limbs it's like buying a new car and having to do body work on it, just my opinion, i know a lot of people here will criticize me for saying this but i think this is unacceptable, no different than me criticizing the President of the UNITED STATES but will vote for him
