Got to my ladder stand plenty early & watched the woods come to life this morning. About 7:15 this morning I had a doe come in pretty fast, but she hung up about 28 yards away. I heard her coming in, then saw her, and got ready to shoot. She was pounding her hoof at me at least that's what I thought, then I slowly looked to my right towards the bottom of my stand, and there was a small buck standing there. I solved the mystery of what hung the doe up and now focused on her position. She turned tail, but took a few steps only. She reached an opening and presented me a quartering away shot. 30 yards and I let my Matrix 380 loaded with a heavy Zombie Slayer tipped with the SWAT A4- Mini. Through the thick stuff I saw her stumble, and when I got down to find her I saw blood that had sprayed all over the place. I spent about 10 minutes looking for the arrow, and then said heck with it, I'll get that later. I made 38 steps right to her in thick stuff, taking small steps, I guess she went 20 yards before crashing. My arrow was sticking out, and buried so far into her opposite shoulder that I decided to just let the butcher friend of mine know about it. Thank You Lord for the chance, and all of you here for the well wishes. That SWAT split her open pretty good!
