Swat A4 impressions

Post by longbow joe »

Well I'm on my 3rd doe so far and the swat A4 has performed flawlessly .
I'm using my vortex at about 315 fps with zombies.
The first one l shot was about 25 yards upon the shot was instant gush and she ran about 30 yards and it was a hell of a crash and it was over.
Out of the 3 that I shot all results were a dead deer within site.
I had the experience of the dull blades in the first batch and used them for practice...l wanted to but l just cant bash these things the proof is in the pudding .
All shots were slightly quartering away lung area .
All but one exited that one was still very adequate penetration.
I was just going to use them n go back to my xacts but l gotta wack a buck with them now why ruin a good thing and mess with success! And l got 8 more doe tags so l will report back but I'm already seeing a pattern of dead deer going very short distances.

I am using the A4-Mini with the 380, and I think I originally bought them for the Axe. Anyway, they work great, opposing 1.5" cutting width, more than drained my doe! I like them, especially since they are made here!
I have only one more archery tag, I'm gonna hold out for a while. Hunting for a buck on public land for the next month, but only in princess weather.

Awesome feedback. Once you see what these do, it's obvious. I'm so so so hoping that the titanium Hybrid makes it up here before Black Bear 2021!

There are so many good broadheads now that it is really up to us to make a good shot. Just about all of them will work well if we send the arrow through the vitals. Maybe the real difference is when we make a bad hit and still have a reasonably short recovery. That's one test I'm not interested in conducting.

I wanted to try another head this fall, but decided to wait, then I decided to give them to someone else here, and I ordered two packs of SWAT Hybrid 4 Blade. If these perform even close to the A4-Mini, I'm gonna make them top dog!

Dan I'm leaning towards the A-4cp chisel point .. l think the blades up front are a novel idea but basically useless ....just my opinion.
I enjoy trying new things it keeps me buisy and broke all at the same time.

The new CP heads feature field point POI out to 50 y in my testing.

The new MOAB is arriving this week for testing.
