What to do
I drew a 2022 HAM javelina hunt tag.
My dilemma.
Do I use my new handgun. T/C Contender , .223 14 in bull barrel with an eltctra dot 4x30 scope.
My knight .54 Cal muzzleloader with 6x Leopold scope
My exomax with a New P3 nikon scope.
Do not be prejudice! LOL

Re: What to do
If these will be coming to feed, I'd choose the bow personally. If there is the option of seeing them farther out, I'd carry the .223 and the bow (if that's legal there).
My only problem with carrying my pistol and a crossbow is that there isn't much difference in effective range, so I always end up shooting with an arrow. The TC contender should be able to stretch that out a ways though.

Take the T/C in .223!! I have one of those and they rock when it comes to Cactus Pigs!!

Looks like a trip to the gun range is in near future.
Hunting .223 ammo isn't cheap either.
Cheapest at sportsman $27 about. Up to $45. Ouch.
I'll sight in with fmj . Then fine tune. Lol
I do like the contender electra red dot scope !

I'd use my Tikka T3X in .223!

The "Business End" of a 60 pound Cactus Pig!!
These guys make a really neat "open mouth" shoulder mount!!
Not to mention they are just plain fun to hunt!!
