September is almost here.

September is almost here.
How many of you guys are getting an itchy trigger finger? It's hard to get too excited when it's a hundred degrees outside but I'm trying to get tuned up without having heatstroke. My outfitter has started sending me some pictures of some really giant velvet bucks. I'm looking forward to the trip to Missouri to start the season off. I'm headed back to N Dakota in October for a goose, duck, and pheasant hunt. That's always a great trip with good friends. November means a month in Georgia and some quality days in the tree. I'm still unsure if Texas is in my December plans or not. My son has finally grown up and started a real job. Not sure how much time he's going to get off from work. Adulting can be a bitch. It's nice to be retired and not having to worry about going to a job. Only thing that would have made this year better would have been a trip to Canada to see my friends. Sure hope we can do it again soon.Hope everyone is ok and that life is good.

We miss you up in Canada. Say hi to Celia please from Patti and I.
Hundred degree heat is no fun, don't care much for high temps either.
Same here, all is good
Cheers!

Re: September is almost here.
Normally, I don't get the itch too bad till we get that1st cool weather day after a blazing summer. It's like a 220 volt switch was flipped!! This year, that switch was flipped early upon the purchase of my Micro Mag 340. CANT WAIT to get rocking this season! Ordered a new Vortex Crossfire ll for it, should be delivered in the next 12 hours. Put out 2 ground blinds last week, got 1 more to put out yet. Time seems to be moving soooo S-L-O-W-L-Y waiting for season to arrive......
Re: September is almost here.
I am making plans with my hunting buddies for this years archery and blackpowder season ..Looks to be a good number of deer again this year....I may try a black bear hunt again this September at a buddie camp at Biscotasing ....Covid has certainly messed things up with seeing our friends at Boofest ... It would be awesome to see everyone in person again !

I only go to one place, Rolling Plains Adventures. You can look them up on the internet. They also have several YouTube videos. It's a first class place.

We certainly miss seeing you guys also. I hope that retirement is treating you well. I can't wait to catch up with all your adventures. I sure hope that Boo will have another Boofest before long. Now that I'm retired, I can come early and help with the set up. We really miss seeing our friends.

Re: September is almost here.
I will be heading up to my hunting spot around mid Aug to check and trim stands and visit the land owners.
I have some searching to do to find one additional property. I have a spot in mind. Finding out who owns it and securing permission will be challenging!

A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

I am unsure how the early part of my hunting is going to be like. Two of My Malinois who weight 55 and 60+ lbs ran into my wife at full tilt. She was hit so hard her head hit the ground and she needed multiple plates to repair the 4 nasty fractures. She can't put any pressure on her foot for at least 6 more weeks. I was hoping to finish my kill plot and do some other work on that property last week but it's a we shall see thing now. Argh!
Needless to say, she needs help for every thing right now. Not that I'm not happy to do whatever she needs but...... On the other hand and hit like that could have had more grave consequences.
