Strykro 370
Figured I'd share the results of this latest build. Found a Stryker Offspring package last fall and figured I could come out well enough after parting some of it out to make this build well worth it.
Sold the Offspring front end and the C2 Crank on ebay for more than I had into all of it, even after ebay fees and shipping. Gotta be one upside to living in such an anti-crossbow state (MN), and that is a very deflated used crossbow market. They sell for much less locally here than in other crossbow friendly states.
So anyway, I was left with an Offspring (Matrix) stock and rail that was going to be plenty long for a micro build. Plus I kept the trigger box and Guardian ADF. All I needed was a riser for it, and ended up finding an original Gen 1 Micro riser to buy.
Intent was to build this for one of my brothers who can no longer shoot a compound bow due to shoulder injury.
Plan was to just use a set of standard micro limbs, but ended up finding a good used set of HO limbs in Strata pattern. So that was the final piece to start figuring out final configuration it should be.
After some filing on the Gen 1 riser for a little freer fit, I put some standard micro limbs in it and let my other brother try it on his 308 Short. He liked how that shot a little better than his original riser, so now he has a 327 Short just like I do.
I took his original riser and then put the HO micro limbs in it. *DISCLAIMER* don't just read this and think you can put HO limbs in any riser. This write-up would be much much longer to go into the details. And all of my builds end up having rail length/riser/limb combos that are de-rated from what Excalibur already sells.
Figured out that the Offspring front sling stud location would work perfect for riser hole location to make for a bow with 5/16" shorter power stroke than a Micro 380. And about the same 5/16" longer than the new Wolverine and Micro Extreme. Also put a Micro 355 trigger in it cause I had no idea if the Offspring trigger boxes were de-rated for their light draw weight. I doubt it, but had the unit from the 355 anyway so I used it.
This seemed perfect for my bro.
So after bringing to a friend, I had the rail machined in no time.
Anyone considering a Wolverine, Micro Extreme, or Micro 380....these things are legit! The HO micro limbs give you a little extra oomph for basically the same cocking effort, and you also get the improved limb construction. It's not pushing the limits of these limbs at all to shoot 360 or 380 fps. If I were a betting man I'd say these models are going to be known many years from now as one of the most rock solid crossbows ever made, just like the Exo series.
That's about it. Enough rambling. Pics:

Yeah that is just what is leftover from the cable slide groove that the Stryker compound front end needed.longbow joe wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 8:57 pmNice job ...I like the cutouts in the end of the riser .
Took roughly 4.5" off the front of the rail.

NAW, Tyler, tell him you did that to "Lighten" it further and to get the "Perfect" balance.wheelsquad wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 9:46 pmYeah that is just what is leftover from the cable slide groove that the Stryker compound front end needed.longbow joe wrote: ↑Sun May 07, 2023 8:57 pmNice job ...I like the cutouts in the end of the riser .

Impressive! I'm glad that I can just buy a crossbow and go hunting. If I had to assemble one from various parts from different bows, I'd be lost and frustrated. You have knowledge and ability far beyond mine.

What’s “HO” an acronym for?

Re: Strykro 370
They're the new Micro limbs that first came out when the 400TD's were released. Have since been used for the the Micro 380, Wolverine, and Micro Extreme.

Well, thanks for clearing up that question! I was going to suggest “horizontal occupation “, but your answer is much better.
