Time for Turkey

I plan to be sitting on a hardwood hillside 1/2 hour before the sun comes up in the morning. Hope the rains from Rita hold off long enough to let a few little Jakes wander within shooting range. Anyone else out there hunt Fall Turkey with their xbows. Tom

Deer season opens Oct 1, and turkey season opens Oct 8. The freezer's empty, so I hope to get a deer quickly, then I can concentrate on turkeys. Allowed 3 deer & 1 turkey (either sex) in my area this fall. After the 2 gobblers from the spring season, I'm ready for a jake or jenny for the table

Well if they come by I'll try to get one.As you know we are allowed 2 with Bow.Then October 1 we have a month of Gun hunting where we are allowed 2.

I've got a couple Muzzleloading Shotguns I'm going to try out on them.

I woke up this morning to the sound of wind driven rain off the side of the house. Still raining 8 hours later. On the bright side after Rita moves off the weather is going to start dropping this week. I'll start hunting after work. Best of luck to all. Tom

I'm food plot master at the hunt club I'm in. Went to a plot and there was 15 or so young birds in it. I rode the ATV right up to them and they looked at me. I started yelling at them to get out of my plot! LOL They just walked away real slow clucking. I wonder if they'll be any smarter next weekend?

We have a ton on the property we have. I've heard 7 gobblers at one time in the spring. One member saw a huge flock recently of 50 or more birds. I've seen 30 plus. I took my daughter -11- spring hunting this year. She got 2 the last one was a nice one. http://members.cox.net/4seasons/longbeard-1.jpg
She's going to deer hunt this year now that xbows are legal here.

Our fall archery turkey season runs the same as deer about 90+ days. I see alot of turkeys at my farm and hunting lease so one usally gets shot while I am deer hunting by wondering to close in to me.
