Things are heating up ...
Yep , I'll get sorted out before too long .... just means I'll be hunting later in the season .... just have to keep track of what the deer are doing until then .... good to check in on the forum for the hunt updates.... gives me a comparison of what is going on , area to area ...
Good hunting , good luck !

See Ya. ... R.J. > " Remember , Trophies are measured by the time and energy expended to get them , not the size or quantity of the quarry "
Really nice pics R.J!, keep 'em comin!
Things are looking slow in my area.
I went out yesterday afternoon and they haven't yet started to make their breeding scrapes where there is always scrapes/rubs. But a couple more frosty mornings/nights like last night and this morning should soon change that, they're still at the pre-rut stage right now.

Wow, that old boy had a thick neck!
I was out for a sit with the camera last night and noticed that a buck had been freshening up his scrapes in the area. There is a large scrape which was used last year also. I have yet to see a buck in this area, but the sign is there. Hopefully he'll show himself in the next few weeks. Preferably in my cross hairs
.
Great pictures R.J. I hunted for 6 years in N.S. during a buck only season and only managed to see does and fawns. No oppertunity to fill the freezer, but I did get some nice pictures and loved to just watch the deer go about their business. I hope you heal up soon, but if you don't get to hunt this season, I'd say you already have seen more game than most of us will see while hunting.
Take care.

I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!

Beauty pics, I know the Deer are moving around a lot behind our place but I have not had a chance to look for signs of buck activity!
I agree with L.W that this cool weather will get things happening!
Have a good day!

I guess the story I wrote a couple of days ago entitled "NOT NOW" sums it up. I tried Wabi's suggestion on the silicone spray and it is a definite improvement. The wind direction is my biggest problem right now. I need some decent weather so I can be confident of the shot placement. The deer are moving and I like the amount of sign I am seeing. If the cool weather holds it will be an excellent year for a lot of us. The weather is holding me out of the stand more than anything. It looks better on Thursday and Friday. Saturday looks like it is going to be warmer with 12 C. So all things considered, moon included, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are the best days to hunt. Work just gets in the way.
