Very good. Your first from ground and Xbow? Impressive I'd say. First's are always the best. And a good size Doe to boot! Glad your helping out this meat pole thread. Mine are coming in tommorow, pick them up after work. Congrats Doegirl, and others too.

I have now defeated my brother for a single season record. He gat 5 deer 2 years ago. This year out 3 times, and shot 2 deer. Shotgun season is on here now, and I have hunted 3 days, and have shot 5 of our gangs 8 deer. I am sleeping in tomorrow, as we only have 2 tags for the next 3 days, and at the rate I am going, I will fill them before the guys.
When you whack them you better stack them!!!

I was lucky enough to harvest this 9 pointer on 10-27-05. He was running a scrape line and was 10 yards out. The boys were happy it ended early as we then went off chasing squirrels/

Them are all great pics!

Thank you all for sharing...Congrats to all who have been successful so far this year, and the best of luck to the rest of you who are still out-there trying.

I haven't been out much as I would have liked to as I have other important issues that have/need to be dealt with... I'm also still waiting for my swamp to freeze over so that I can go hunt it without getting soaked up to my knees.

But I can live with the wait, cause I've always loved hunting the late season anyway. It's cold, yes...But that's when the big bucks decide to wander out of their holes more freely...

thanks again

Called this guy in from 200 yards away on Nov 4 / 05.
Double lung at 9 yards. He ran 220 yards. The interesting thing is the evidence of a bolt or arrow that had passed completely through the deers chest in a previous year. Blades must have been dull or something because it should have hit some lung. Healed up except for scar tissue.
