Awesome pics and great story. Congrats on a nice long beard. I got to get a new camera. Your pics are so clear. Truly an awesome few days you are having. Hope you get your second with your new bow. Good luck.

Drown a Turkey

RJ
You didn't mention that you took the groundhogs home for the table but they are very good at this time of the year --- not fat as they will be later on.
Great pictures and a nice bird.
Seeing your sunrise picture flashes in mind the early morning setting of tranquility as nature awakens. It is a time that everyone should experience. It is worth getting up for even at the hours people like us do so.

Thanks all ...

As for the clear pictures ... well I'm shooting a mid range Pentax K100D

I took over a 200 frames to get the ones I posted ... I don't know if it is me or the camera but some are " spot on " and some are out of focus , so I shoot lots and edit/delete the ones that don't turn out when I get home .

As for the ground hogs ... I have eaten them before , but those ones went to " natures recyclers "

I find the same thing with my Nikon D40X when using the 70-300mm lens. I think it is more a matter of my shakey hands shooting at long distances. Going to have to find a small monopod or something to steady the camera.
