All in all there isn't a whole lot of performance difference between compound and recurve crossbows now adays..Compounds have a higher level of maintenance in that they must be timed on a regular basis(much more frequent than compound vertical bows) and this requires a pro shop unless you have a bow press/knowledge to yourself.
If you factor in the cost of replacement cables/strings/slides and the labor to keep them synchronized over the recurves ability to swap strings at will..well it becomes real clear that the recurve simply IS the better choice.
The customer service and this forum alone just seal the deal to an already logical choice..
