Im just getting into crosbow hunting and i yet have to buy a crossbow. I have a couple of questions about hunting with a crossbow.
Do you need a licence to shoot a crossbow.
Can you shoot turkeys with a crossbow in sountheren ontario.
And what crossbow would be good one to start out with for small game and large.
Thanks Evan

Any Excalibur will do the trick on any game animal in Ontario, including Moose. With the bigger animals you just up the weight of your bolt and broadhead setup to give the bolt more kinetic engery. Basically, more punch to your shot. The flight speed slows a bit with heavier bolts, but you will get better penetration.

The key to killing with a bow is to get em in the vitals and try not to hit hard bones (shoulders, legs, backbone).

For turkeys, most guys either use mechanical heads (larger cutting diameter than fixed blades) or a fixed blade with an arrestor. The arrestor goes on the shaft of the bolt and prevents the bolt from passing through the turkey. They have a hard time getting away with the arrow still in them.

One of the guys here has some good pics of his setup with the arrestors..............Digger would you?
I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!
