Hi Everyone,
During my last down range practice, 3 of the front inserts of my firebolts flew out after going through the target.
I went to my local dealer and bought some spare inserts and glue. When I got home I filed the inside of the arrow slightly, cleaned with alcohol and allowed it to dry.
Without thinking I put glue on an insert and tried to put it in(last time I ever do that before testing without glue) and it got stuck half way.
How do I remove the insert without ruining the arrow? Is the arrow likely ruined?
Thanks!

Carbon arrows i wold try boiling in water fer 10 min at least to soften that glue. Others will use a field pt screwed into insert & slowly heat the pt. Caution as the latter can & will make yer carbon arrows become brittle. Last resort is to cut them off & yer arrows will be 3/4" to an inch shorter

Thanks again Vixenmaster, that worked perfectly!
I had to clamp on vice grips at a 90 degree angle and then step on them to use both hands to pull the arrow, but it worked.
Now I've marked the arrow so that I can recognize it in the field, I fear it may not fly accurately.

I use a table vise with leather inside the jaws. I quickly pull from boiling water tighten in vise on field pt. & twist with both hands to free the inserts. Sometimes i have to let arrows dry & harden back up the glue gets brittle & will break loose. Other times its a second boiling to get them loose

I just did a dz of them, so i can cut the brass down in weight fer my vixen. About got my left wrist sore twisting the arrow shafts off the inserts. Brass weighing 110 gr taking them down 85 gr. Hope to have vixen's arrows at 375-380.

Then I cut the charred end off the arrow & installed a new insert.
I think I may have over-heated the tip a bit.

I use a long 8-32 screw w/ head cut off in a vise, or a 6" piece of 8-32 threaded rod that used to be available at Ace hdwes. Heat w/ torch well away from shaft while pulling on same.
Soon as the glue breaks loose, the shaft is away from heat.

I gently heat the loosely installed field tip with a butane torch of heat gun until the glue starts to melt (you'll see a wisp if vapor or shiny fluid extrude from behind insert) then gently twist and pull out with pliers. Gently does it, if carbon fibers unwind and come out with the insert that portion of the arrow is ruined.
