Gun writer reviews crossbow.

Post by Cossack »

In the Oct. issue of Shooting Times, gun writer Dave Dolbee reviews the PSE TAC 15 and makes the following statements:
"... the PSE TAC 15 line is likely the only crossbows that can be full drawn and let down without firing."
Hummm, must not have heard of Excalibur.

"The crank utilizes a ratchet for safety during the draw...for hunting you can hold the release lever down to draw silently."
Cmon Dave, as you said it's there for SAFETY! Would you cock your ole hammer gun with Valsoline on you thumb?

"...using 26.25 inch, 425 gr arrow at more than 400 fps...providing 150 ft lb of KE. The most powerful bows on the market are providing approximately (half)that KE"
Assuming you're including other crossbows in that statement is simply wrong. e.g. my Cyclone gets 120 ft lbs with a 400 gr arrow; and the fastest PSE (vert) does 106 ft lbs with a 360 gr arrow.

"...one overlying fact remains that should convince every AR-15 owner to buy a TAC-15---think how much you'll save on ammo cost."
Sure Dave, at $1299-for just the bow upper, not to mention proprietary arrows and strings-you're going to save ooodles of money...over time

Those bows are bigger, heavyer and way more denaro than Excalibur! I think the crank must be used every time.(350or400fps) PSE is a great compound bow,but what were they thinking? Snapshot

Now you know why I've canceled most of my subscriptions to gun and hunting magazines. The Writer's are nothing more than marketers who write glowing reviews of the latest company to throw money their way....down here we have a name for people like them...the name sounds like doors...
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4
