"Trigger Shoe"

Post by pa vince »

Has anyone on here ever tried using a Trigger shoe on an Excal? I was thinking that a wider trigger would make a great trigger even better. I recently bought a 2nd hand Phoenix and all I can say is that it is awesome. Any thoughts about installing a trigger shoe?

Do you have a trigger shoe that fits it? If not I certainly wouldn't count on getting one from Tyler Manufacturing. I ordered one for my Winchester super x 3 from them over two months ago and even though they had it in stock I have yet to recieve it. Sorry for the rant :x .

Try checking some of the ones made for painball markers. I know that alot of the Tippmann models have a very wide trigger and may fit. They mount with h 2 set screw that press against the side of the trigger.

"Ace' was the big name in shoes many years ago. Haven't seen mention of them in a long time, lawyers may have done them in.

Damn what a great idea! I have one on my deer rifle and I can't believe I didn't think of it for my Excal. Thanks for the thought!

I had to modify a Ruger 44 mag trigger shoe-don't know model number-filed it slightly on the inside-have used it about 2 months.

Tyler trigger shoe is a one woman operation and she is going to school for nursing. thus the long delays. call her direct for quicker service although I don't know if she can go faster due to studies.
works very good. nice feel.

Pa Vince,
I will do that. Tyler is where I got the one for my hunting rifle. I think they are about the best and possibly only source. Once I have talked to them, or tracked something down, I'll post back to you all.

Did you have any problem with getting your triger shoe in a timely manner? I have had one on order for 2 months now and it was in stock. It sure didn't take them long to cash my check when I placed the order.

Still looking, but it may be hard to find one with a wide enough slot, but I'm sure we will come up with something or start grinding a little.
