I was told to get a BCY Angel Majesty Serving Material .026" 66 yard jig spool to serve the strings on my Equinox. So far it is working well. Followed the "Boo videos" on http://www.crossbow-review.com/TechCorn ... Corner.htm and duplicated his serving jig found on http://boocustomstrings.com/importantstuff.html near the bottom of the page.

I am not a hunter, shoot 3D tournaments only. Shooting lots of arrows at the range practicing for the fall/winter tournaments. Have only had the bow for a couple of months. I am following all of Boo's instruction, found on his site, this this has prolonged the life of the servings. Have two string on the go because of their heavy use. When the serving separates on one switch to the other. No down time.

Cheers,

Bill

Halo works great, try at least .026 diam. Majesty works even better and worth the increased price IMO. The trick is to get the serving on very, very tight-much tighter than for vert bow-to keep it from separating. Boo does a great job in his tutorial.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.

Application is more important than the material. Follow Boo's video closely. I've gotten the most shots from a Browning material. 487 using the Exomax and that was before I did the trigger job to smooth things out a bit.

The Halo and the Majesty . . .I really can't pick one over the other, they are both good materials.

The second most important thing is the maintaince of the serving. You need to wax at least every 25 shots. Flip the string at 125-150 shots(take the right side loop and put it on the left side, or switch ends). Turn the string if you see wear and the string is broken in to where you are no longer adjusting the string to your brace height . . .this means to make one turn of the loop in the same direction at each end.

Now . . .some folks believe this maintaince is a waste of time and effort . . .with the lower poundage bows, they are probably correct. The serving on my Vixen lasts far, far longer than my Exomax. However, every serving would benefit from the waxing and the turning.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
Perception trumps intention.

Where do you get Majesty or Halo from here in Canada in the .026 to .030 diameter?

I have been using Brownell's Diamondback in .026 as I have it for vertical bows but was hoping to find something even better.

Thanks,

Dean
