Great day in bush, passed on a 6point/ BBD
Yesterday was one of those days that keeps you going out and sit in your stand.
The sun was shinng, there was no wind at all and about 2" of fresh snow from the night before, it was just prefect.
After sitting in our stands all day Sat. and not seeing even a track we weren't real excited to get out early like normal
I finally got in my stand at 7:15, got ready and sat back to enjoy the morning.
At 8:00 I hear two Does running my way, they stop about 50yds out in front of me and just milled around.
Then off the rigde I hear grunting and a small 6 point
is coming in to the Does. the Does don't want nothing to do with this guy and take off running again.
Having shot an eight point with my M/L early I had decided to wait for one buck we call knarly. We only have one pic of him on our T cams but I decided to wait for him.
The little buck was in front of me for about 10 mins smelling every tract in tne snow, he finally moved off to my right, heading to my good buddy Jim who was looking to take his first buck with his new Exomax, so I sat back to listen for the Max to break the silence.
About 8:30 i here a noise to my left behind me, I turn to see what it was, not seeing another Doe right behind my stand.
She busted me and took off, ok I guess I'm done, I will just wait for a call from Jim.
At 8:35 I hear a deer walking behind me again, is that Doe coming back, Like a dummy I turn to look again
Oh my god it was HIM. He came in and turned and was heading right to the mock scrape I made, when he got behind a tree I raised my bow, for some reason my stand creeked, behind the tree and no shot, I just blew the buck of a life time.
He stood there for what seemed like for ever(mite have been 5 sec.) then went for the scrape, with his right leg forward and his head stretched out, I let the Enox launch, I instantly saw blood pouring out both of his sides.
When I found him and walked up to him I had to go sit on a log, Didn't know if I was going to passout or be sick to my stomach. I am shaking right now typing this
Sorry I rambled on so long.

Rick - he's GORGEOUS!
CONGRATS on getting Ol' Gnarly! He was worth the wait!
Was thinking of you yesterday and wondering how you were. Actually, think of you almost every day when I use the nice potato bin.
Congrats again!
