I would love for Excalibur to provide me with 300 ft/sec with something small and light. The phoenix gets heavy while marching up and down the hills and hollows here in southern Ohio. Take a Vixen, increase the power stroke, shorten the limbs, angle those limbs forward and finally, get rid of every ounce that does not need to be there for the bow to kill. Or create something entirely new. Think out of the box.

shortening the wingspam will give you some amazing results...it wouldn't be difficult to shorten the limbs by approx. 2" each side, redrill the holes in the limbs and slightly modify the limb pockets  ...as with a conventional recurve the shorter the bow length the more the poundage and of course the more fps...i should try to build one of these sometime  ...not sure why they wouldn't offer a production bow as you mention...believe me, it's totally "possible"
