A Simple Effective Mod...
Thought I would post a few pics of a mod I just did on my 355. I like being rock solid when I shoot and one of the ways to help achieve that is by having the sling wrapped around my offhand upper arm. The problem I was having is when tension is applied via the sling the buttplate would slip around on my shoulder. The butt doesn't afford enough traction as is. I find it odd that they insert mold the pistol grip and the forearm but not the buttplate. Anyway, it got me to thinking of how to solve this issue.
Enter Plasti-Dip and some pumice grit. Plasti-Dip is the stuff used to coat tool handles, etc. The grit you can buy at Home Depot in the paint section...it is used in latex floor paint to provide traction. I mixed up a bit with the plasti-dip in a plastic ziplock container and dipped the whole buttplate section.
Two coats later and I couldn't be more pleased. Now when you pull it in to your shoulder it's THERE! And since I had the stuff already mixed up I also did the handle of my bone saw.
And if I wasn't a moron I would add the pics but I don't remember how...duh!
Screw it...here are the links to the pics...lol

I can see that working well. Plasti-dip is fairly tough stuff, I used it to paint a truck of mine.

Re: A Simple Effective Mod...
You can get both the Plasti-Dip (make sure you look at the top of the can for the color, I almost bought yellow!! ) and the pumice grit in the paint section of Home Depot.

Re: A Simple Effective Mod...
Great idea! I will have to get that stuff and do it, my 355 kept sliding today when I was shooting (was fine until I was ready to squeeze the trigger them SLIP!)
I was close to launching the bow at the target instead of the arrow a couple of times because of it aargh!
