....a lot of great responses on this topic that definitely is cause for thinking...
....I mostly hunt in ground blinds so there is not really an issue of banging or dropping from a treestand...but we can and sometimes trip while walking in to our spots...I don't ever see myself saying, "not a problem let me just reach on back and pull out and pop on my spare an i'm good to go.'' In the truck, maybe....but we also know how messy that gets....
....I do agree with Stan (Strum) that a backup can and does make sense...but like I said, "I ain't given up my Italian lunch with expresso to carry one!!"

im really holding out to see what's coming up in the next month er two..i see the Nikon Bolts are not as avalible as they once were..Bass pro "Backorder"

I do have a spare red dot I can use fer now but im not shooting too much anyway..
next thing is a chrony which I just purchased from nocturnal..
that will get me shootin im sure ... just hope I can keep it ABOVE the LED this time

...and my luck is my prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich with roasted peppers on brick oven bread would fall out of my backpack....I'd be cussin at that big buck

Remember,,,the Horton scopes on ebay that are packaged vertically are made by Hawke,,,you can see the difference in price,,there are some of those on there for $40.00 or so,,,,you can't go wrong IMO,,,Good Luck
