Titanium hardware packages available
Ti64 has a full custom 140Ksi hardware replacement kit made available for most all Excalibur's bows at a reasonable cost. No rust and hardware weight is almost cut in half. Not long ago Danny Miller and member Racking up Points worked with Ti64 to make this available.

Thanks, that looks like another one of those "gottahavits".
Re: Titanium hardware packages available
It's a good kit.
ONE point of irritation for me. Ok so you have the ability to fix a problem but keep the, imho, flawed problem. IE the scope mount screws. You can use a bigger size Allen since there is plenty of material to support it, or make it a beefer screw head - but you go with the same bad size/design that the original had. They strip just as easy and can be a problem to get a solid tight fit with. Had they opened the screw head to the next size allen or even made it a allen/finger screw in design to beef up the walls of the screw would have been great!
I need to look on their site and find a same size thread/length in a beefier design.

CAce, new improved scope mount screws utilizing a larger Allen heads should be finished by the time you read this.

Thanks Norm. Gonna check this out for the Vortex. Not too worried about the weight but I like the no rust idea.

Re: Titanium hardware packages available
This point was well taken and a redesign has been underway since I received my kits a few months ago, and they should be done very soon, possibly even done already. We did not want to go to socket cap screws, the higher profile rubs and gouges the plastic of the rope cocker hooks. The improved scope mount screws will be one size larger on the Allen socket, and a few mm's deeper to provide for a beefier, more strip resistant head, while not interfering with cocking. Thanks for the feedback.CrazyAce wrote:It's a good kit.

For some reason my pad will not copy that link. How much do these kits cost, specifically for an Exocet 200 ??

What are the main advantages? Weight, strength, rust reduction, lack of stripping Allen holes, etc? What is the wt savings (Matrix/Air Brakes)?

All of the above, the weight savings is minimalSEW wrote:What are the main advantages? Weight, strength, rust reduction, lack of stripping Allen holes, etc? What is the wt savings (Matrix/Air Brakes)?

Re: Titanium hardware packages available
On its own, the weight reduction is minimal, I think I found a difference of 1oz on a complete kit. But most of that weight is forward, so you notice it more. There is even greater reduction in weight with the Air Brakes kits.bdog wrote:All of the above, the weight savings is minimalSEW wrote:What are the main advantages? I know SEW prizes forward weight to counteract the upward 'bounce' of a crossbow's firing action. To me, if I'm going to hike a mile to my stand, and sit in it for hours, all while holding the bow, I want it as light as I can make it. That's just my preference.
Where anyone is going to notice significant weight reduction is when all of your components are lightweight, the Ti fasteners are part of an overall strategy, I guess you could say. A few ounces in the scope, a few grams shaved here and there, and you'd be amazed how much lighter our bows can be when compared to OEM outfits. It killed me to add an HHA to my 405 setup because I dreaded the added weight, but with all my other mods, I have pretty much cancelled out its mass.
