Re: The new Micro Raid
Because the camo process is not a dip .
In order to camo the mainframe . You would have to paint it , then get the coating on top of that , then finally the camo . All this adds cost .

Re: The new Micro Raid
Can't think of any past camo patterns from Excalibur that I didn't like. This may be the first. Maybe it needs to grow on me a bit. I remember when the Y25 came out I didn't care for that either. With this one I hope the limbs match?

Re: The new Micro Raid
The Raid would look great with a black anodized mainframe and riser. Bullpup this bow and shoot a true 335fps with all that silencing crap and you'd get me to buy one. I'll be passing on everything I have seen this year

Re: The new Micro Raid
I'm curious also, as to the actual performance numbers after the addition of the suppressor sound deadening stuff and new camo pattern was put on to what I think is a basic Micro 335 gen II ?
I have read where the Micro 355 suppresor lost about 12 fps ( as posted in Excals. performance figures below the speeds reported for a present Micro 355 ), into the 343 fps range with all of the sound deadening stuff applied.
So if this same 12 fps speed loss applies to the "Raid" 335, I'm guessing we may be looking at Excaliburs first 323 fps bow with a 350 gn test arrow, which IMO may equate to aprox. 306 fps with a hunting arrow of 400 grains when using the commonly quoted 17 fps loss theory for a 50 grain increase in arrow weight.
I'll stay with my current gen II model which is giving me a confirmed 335.4 & 335.6 thru Excals crono. at 350 grains. This one only drops into the 318 fps range with that same 400 gn arrow. Besides, I like the exesting camo pattern better, and would hate to toss the deadening stuff ( I paid more for ) to get performance back up to past levels.
So, for me it would not be a Win Win to change.
I'm sure plenty will not agree. That's what freedom and choices are for ! So I would encourage those to just go ahead and " Go For It " !
I'll stick with the one I have and that's already paid for.

Re: The new Micro Raid
I am feeling bad saying this but I really dislike that camo job looks like a home spray paint job that did not go well, just my opinion.
