Re: Turkey Hunting
Once you use your cross bow for turkeys you won't want to use your gun again. just get them in close and you will be ok . lots of fun.

Round 3 this year. No bird for me in the last 2 seasons.
Going with the Micro and magnus bull-head combo. Hope the population is better in my woods this year...

A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Shot this Fall Long Beard first day of our 2016 season. Was total of three long beards, one ran with the thud of the hit, but the other walked around this bird, looking at it as to say, get up, stop the laying down. He would put, cut, and even gobbled at the down bird.

Re: Turkey Hunting
Did it for the first time last year.
Successful first time out.
Plan to give it a try again this year.
Only Problem was that it took 1 hr before the flock moved off so I could retrieve my Tom so as not to be busted by the others that continued to still feeding in and around the area as if nothing had happen, due to quietness of the crossbow shoot over the normal blast of my 12 gauge.
I guess they must have just thought the Tom was having a wee little nap ( dirt that is )

Re: Turkey Hunting
I've killed several with my bow but I usually use my shotgun most of the time.

Re: Turkey Hunting
I use both gun and bow . I hunt some areas that see a bit of road callers . So the birds get a little bit skittish after the first day or two .

What broad head, fixed, mechanical? Also what are your tag prices. Here in Iowa about $30 each limit 2.
