E Bikes For Hunting
Has anybody tried using E-Bikes for hunting when you need to get pretty far into the woods? I see you can purchase trailers as an accessory and was wondering if you can really haul out a deer with one?
Motor vehicles like quads are not allowed on public land in my state so the E -Bike concept looks interesting.
Not sure why they are so darn expensive

.....They are so damn expensive because they are relatively new and, as of yet, are still somewhat of a novelty....at some point there will be a price drop as more competition enters the market driving the price down.....CT.HNTR wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 7:34 amHas anybody tried using E-Bikes for hunting when you need to get pretty far into the woods? Re: E Bikes For Hunting
Yeah I’ve been looking at them and wondered the same thing why soooo expensive!
Been doing some research and found that the majority bike ‘manufacturers’ all buy from the same company in china so there are several markups along the way to North America. There are many You tubes showing how to build your own at nearly half the cost bike included or if have your own bike it will even cheaper Parts (motor, battery, gearing pedals etc.) are the exact same as the e bikes bought in stores. Takes about an hour and half to install.

It's called supply and demand. If folks wouldn't buy them at the "inflated" prices, the sellers would have to lower their markups. Although the early bird gets the worm, the patient shopper gets the better price. Not sure why they are so darn expensive

There are a few guys on some other crossbow sites who have been using them for a few years and have outfitted them with trailers and or Crawler carts with great success. They also have a good representation at most dealer shows.CT.HNTR wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 7:34 amHas anybody tried using E-Bikes for hunting when you need to get pretty far into the woods? Companies like quietkat have basically created this market from the ground up using only premium components and proprietary designs engineered for hunting and off road use since day one. As mentioned there are many other brands, not all would land in the premium category. Tesla has the market cornered, but that doesn't mean you can't buy a Chevy Volt for far less. Its the same thing, but a whole lot different. Further to that, it would probably be next thing to a nightmare to cheap out of the transportation that got you (and your gear) IN 5 miles of think bush before it broke down. Now you have to get the bike out too hahaha, bet you wish you bought the QuietKat and left the Costco brand on the shelf then.
They are definately a luxury item, and the pricing reflects that. But on the other hand, has anyone seen the price of a premium quality mountain bike right now?? I'll sell you a brand new supercycle right now if you want to keep a cheek clenched on that wallet.

Re: E Bikes For Hunting
I was looking at them for use on my on property which would be ideal. Due to my hips screaming when I try to still hunt any distance these days, an E Bike would be a lifesaver. Quiet, and able to haul an animal out. The Rungu Dually caught my eye with their very stable looking dual wheel front end...man they are expensive! Cant justify spending that kind of $$. Seems that the “mid drive” would be a better bike for off road but then again they also have one (or more) with 2 hub motors front and rear! 2 wheel drive! Hopefully they will come down in price but by the time they do I may be too old to care anyway...

With the way it is timing out I'll probably get to use it turkey hunting. Didn't think I would get it until June back when I ordered it.

I'll use it all summer for getting around outside with the kids, going on trails, but I'll primarily use it for hunting.
